Sara & Toby- Elegant Rock Quarry Farm Wedding

I’m very excited to share this gorgeous rainy day wedding! Sara and Toby were married at Rock Quarry Farm this past September. While the day started off with non-stop rain, it paused just in time for the first look and wedding party photos in front of the old farm house. Sarah decided to have fun by wearing her Hunter boots under her dress to stay dry (which made some really cute photos). After an intimate tent ceremony, guests moved to the barn where they enjoyed fabulous food from Mitchell’s Catering. While Sarah and Toby wanted a laid back celebration, they also wanted it to feel a bit upscale and sophisticated. With the right linens and rentals from Party Reflections, fabulous chandeliers and lighting from Get Lit Special Event Lighting, and gorgeous flowers from Eclectic Sage, we made that happen!

We hope you enjoy these beautiful images from Michael Moss Photography and get inspired for your own wedding day!

Ellen & Brendan- Country Chic Farm Wedding

Rock Quarry Farm was the perfect location for Ellen and Brendan’s fall nuptials! The couple wanted a beautiful but relaxed wedding. For the men, they chose to skip the formal coats but, dressed up their attire with some awesome leather suspenders! And rather than choose one dress for all the bridesmaids, Ellen allowed the women to pick their own lace dresses in shades of white and ivory.

After a lovely ceremony guests enjoyed fabulous food from Durham Catering which included Deviled eggs with jalapeno, sweet potato biscuits with pimento cheese, mini chicken and waffles, apple braised pork, and even a delicious chile relleno stuffed with shrimp and cheese! So very, very yummy. The highlight of the bar was their specialty Margarita named, “Marvarita, ” after their adorable dog Marvin. Tre Bella Flowers provided beautiful centerpieces which were placed on vintage linens collected by the bride and her  mother. For dessert there were delicious cupcakes but, the big hit was the hand-made Lebanese desserts from Brendan’s family.

We hope you enjoy these amazing images from Casey Rose Photography and get inspired for your own wedding day!

Anna & Abe- Durham Wedding at Pleasant Green Church and Community Center

Who says a perfectly gorgeous wedding can’t be planned in just three months? When I first met Abe, Anna, and her lovely mother, Debbie, it was late June and they were hoping for a tented wedding on their family property in September. But, after reviewing the logistics and sloped yard it became apparent they needed to find another venue. Being a Durham native I remembered that just down the street from their home is the beautiful Pleasant Green Methodist Church with the adorable Pleasant Green Community Center across the street. The church was warm and welcoming to hosting Anna and Abe’s ceremony and the community center was available. So away we went with the wedding planning!

From the incredible first look to the sparkler send off, there were so many beautiful details. Pleasant Green Church is a quaint and lovely place. It’s set deep in the woods and was the perfect setting for the intimate and sweet ceremony. A lovely touch to the day was Anna’s Cathedral length veil which was purchased by her grandmother on a trip to Belguim in the early 1970’s. After the ceremony guests took a quick trip across the street to the community center, an old army barrack built in the early 1940’s. The building has a real rustic look. But, with some great lighting, a little fabric draping, and some pretty flowers it can really transform into a beautiful space. Anna chose a color palette of coral, pink, and gold which complimented the warm wood tones and added a touch of glamour. Guests enjoyed a variety of specialty drinks and amazing food from the always fabulous Cafe Parizade. After dinner Anna and Abe opted for a blue grass band to entertain the guests.

I hope you enjoy these images from the fabulous Rebecca Ames Photography and get inspired for your own big day!

Rose & Jeremy- NC Vineyard Wedding

Rose and Jeremy were married this past fall at the family owned and operated Hinnant Vineyards in Pine Level, NC.

Rose wore a gorgeous lace dress accesorized with a clustered pearl necklace and birdcage veil. A touch of Southern and retro all in one! The bridesmaids wore burgundy red and carried twig pomendars instead of  traditional bouquets. Jeremy and the groomsmen kept it polished yet causal with dark grey vests and bow ties.

After an intimate ceremony guests celebrated on the vineyard patio with vintage  Bubble Up and NuGrape sodas along with delicious food provided by Baby Moon Cafe. When it was time for dinner guests found their seats at tables all named after golf clubs. A personal touch since Jeremy is a PGA golf professional. After dinner guests enjoyed a very non-traditional wedding cake made of cheesecake. But, all that good food and cake wasn’t enough to keep this crowd off the dance floor. Once Mellon Belly started performing, they danced the night away!

Christina and Ryan: A North Carolina Farm Wedding

When I sat down with Christina and her incredibly fun mom, Shirley, it was clear they wanted a wedding for Christina and Ryan that their guests would not soon forget!

The family’s farm was the perfect backdrop for this sophisticated and lively summer affair. The evening started off with a lovely ceremony where Christina’s adorable dog, Sebastian, served as ring bearer. After the ceremony the guests sipped  Shirleyritas (Shirley’s very delicious and dangerous margaritas) by the pool. Durham Catering offered passed appetizers of  bacon wrapped scallops, sushi, and the best fried green tomato and pimento cheese sandwiches ever!  For dinner guests moved into the main tent overlooking the rolling fields at sunset. It was simply gorgeous! This is where Christina’s theme of horseshoes and butterflies really played out. From the guest name cards tied to miniature horseshoes to the butterflies hanging in the centerpieces no detail was overlooked. Ryan even got his wish for a little Carolina blue, in homage to their alma mater.

After dinner it was time to kick it up with the amazing band Liquid Pleasure! This crowd danced all night long. They  worked up an appetite just in time for some delicious food provided by the Only Burger food truck. For this wedding there was no big send off. Instead the guests were invited to keep the party going in the pool!

Cheers to Christina and Ryan! You certainly had a wedding that no one will ever forget.

Betsy & Giles-Elodie Farms Wedding in Rougemont North Carolina

I am proud to present the Triangle NACE Best Wedding of 2010!

Betsy and Giles’ wedding was full of old-fashioned Southern tradition combined with their own fun and unique style.

Elodie Farms was the perfect backdrop for this fall wedding. The front porch was lined with pumpkins and mums. Carnival lights were strung through the trees and hand-made paper cranes hung from the branches.

The ceremony took place in front of an apple tree with the farm’s goats in the background.
Ceremony seating was  hay bails with blankets. The aisle was lined with charming old-fashioned watering cans filled with  flowers. The runner was an old oriental rug from Betsy’s mom.

Besty and Giles had their three dogs escorted by the groom’s men. Instead of traditional ceremony music the couple had a DJ play their favorite Beatles songs. For the bride’s entrance the DJ played Bright Eyes “First Day of My Life.” Betsy and Giles had a hand tying ceremony. Family members were given ribbons and came up to the couple one by one to give them good wishes and tie their hands together as a symbol of their union.

After the ceremony the couple had an old-fashioned receiving line at the front porch. Then guests went inside for some Pulled pork bbq, hushpuppies, and other Southern fare.

There were many activities during the reception. The guests could play cornhole, horseshoe, get their pictures made with carnival masks in a photo booth, or even make their own cotton candy!

For the dessert the couple had a traditional wedding cake along with assorted mini cupcakes and candied apples.

Congratulations to a wonderful couple!
