I am so excited to share this wonderful wedding from last September! Dorie and Andrew worked together as a team to plan every detail from start to finish. For the colors they chose dark blue and white. These colors celebrated the love for their alma mater, Duke, and complimented the beautiful stained glass windows of Duke Chapel. One of my favorite details was the men’s blue and white striped ties and cummerbunds that matched the striped ribbons on the bridesmaids bouquets. A special touch were the custom navy blue bridesmaids dresses by Andrew’s cousins company, Thread. For the reception Dorie and Andrew chose a classic, yet contemporary design using blue and white linens with a trellis pattern. For the florals they kept the look clean and fresh using all white flowers including tall ceneterpieces of cala lillies. Durham Catering created an amazing menu. The guests started with a plated salad of local heirloom tomatoes with fresh mozzarella and avocado drizzled with pesto and balsamic vinegar. Afterwards, guests enjoyed a wide variety of food stations, including a Southern station with NC style bbq and hushpuppies. One of my favorite memories of the evening was during dinner when Dorie turned to me raving about the hushpuppies and tried to hand me one. They were just that good!
We hope you enjoy the incredible pictures by Walters and Walters.
