Latoya and Aaron met as undergrads at Duke University in Durham. So when it was time to get married they wanted to come back to where it all began. They chose one of Durham’s most beautiful and historic venues, The Cotton Room. The space is a great blank canvas with exposed brick walls and large windows. And in this case it was perfect for showcasing Latoya’s desire for all things that sparkle and bling! The vibrant color scheme of purple and blue was showcased in the linens and in the beautiful flowers by Tre Bella. There were also some very personal touches. Each table number had a photo of Latoya and Aaron at that age. And as a special treat Latoya made delicious milk chocolate and white chocolate cookies as favors.
As you look through the photos you will see lots of other unique touches that made the wedding special. But, what stands out to me the most is the joy and love that you see in everyone’s face. One of the most touching moments I have ever seen as a planner was when Aaron’s son cried during the ceremony because he was so happy to see Latoya and his father marry. It was certainly a very special day that I will never forget.
