I am so excited to present this beautiful summer wedding in Durham! Megan and Scott both attended Duke undergraduate but, didn’t meet until they both enrolled in a masters program at the university. Since Duke represented such a large part of their lives, Durham was the perfect place to exchange vows and celebrate with their friends!
I had such a great time planning with Megan and her mom, Kathleen. They made a great team and I admire their close bond. Of course, the groom did get some input. Especially in choosing the cake from the always fabulous Art of Cake! My favorite part about weddings are the personal touches. In this case, it was Megan’s custom gown created with restored Alecon lace from her mother’s own wedding dress.
After a beautiful Catholic ceremony at Duke Chapel the guests headed to the reception at the historic Bay 7 at American Tobacco where they enjoyed amazing food from The Angus Barn, including some Maryland style crab cakes in honor of Megan’s home town. After dinner guests got down with the fabulous Rhythm Nation and danced all night long!
We hope you enjoy these photos by Walter and Walters and get inspired for your own big day!
