Beautiful Spring Wedding in Southern Pines

Lindsay and Fred’s gorgeous wedding took place last April in Southern Pines. It was the perfect location for the Raleigh based couple. Southern Pines is known for horseback riding and golf, their two favorite pastimes. They found an adorable church in the heart of downtown for the ceremony followed by the picturesque Weymouth Center for the reception. Elliot’s on Linden created an incredible menu of food stations which included Italian, Southern, and Asian (in honor of Fred’s Korean heritage). For the decor, the couple went with an elegant Southern feel by utilizing farm tables, lace runners, and an electic mix of vases with soft blush tone flowers.

The highlight of the wedding was a special toast and speech given by Lindsay’s dad, Rob. He told the story of Fred’s father and mother who fell in love while Fred’s father was stationed in Korea. After returning to the US he realized he could not live without her and sent a letter declaring his love and included a four-leaf clover. When Fred realized his own love for Lindsay he did the same by proposing with a beautifully written card and a four-leaf clover inside. Then, on the afternoon of the wedding as Rob waited around the Weymouth to see his daughter for the first time he thought how amazing it would be to find a four-leaf clover in the reception tent. He looked around for several minutes and finally decide to look under the groom’s chair. And there he found a four-leaf clover! He gave it to Lindsay and Fred as a memento of the day and you will see it with their wedding rings pictured below. It was an incredible and touching moment to remember.
