Reena and Shawn’s Labor day weekend started off with a Saturday party at the Rickhouse. In typical Indian tradition this party is the Sangeet and is filled with Indian food and choreographed dances. But, Reena and Shawn wanted the evening to be more of a welcome party that was relaxed, festive, and introduced their guests to the Durham. The Rickhouse was the perfect venue. It has an incredible view of the old Durham Bulls Stadium (as seen in the famous movie Bull Durham) and fresh seasonal flowers from Bluebird Meadows filled the room. For dinner guests enjoyed a menu of BBQ, corn fritter, mac n cheese, and fried okra provided by Durham Catering. And nothing cooled guests down on the warm summer evening better than an ice cream by bar the Freezing Pointe.
